AVDT – Armored Vehicle Driver Training

This course is designed to enhance the drivers’ understanding of the capabilities of armored vehicles, and the skills and confidence to operate their assigned vehicle. The course will provide drivers with the techniques required to extricate themselves and their Principal Officers from hostile acts of aggression, and the skills required for basic and advanced vehicle control and emergency driving techniques.  Students receive training in evasive maneuvers used to evade criminal or terrorist attacks to include backing, Y-turns, and barricade breaching (ramming). Additionally students receive training in Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) and Fully Armored Vehicles (FAVs) by driving through selected vehicle control exercises and basic, multi car driving exercises.

This course will consist of Security Driving, Unimproved/Off-Road, and Armored Vehicle w/ Motorcades.
